Martin & Me

In 1998, Gideon Burrows left university with a degree in theology and no ambition to become a vicar.

Instead, he became involved in the campaign against British arms sales to some of the world’s dodgiest regimes.

It was a journey that took him onto the streets all around Europe, into arms fairs, into police cells, outside arms company dinners, getting thrown out of shareholder meetings and up in court facing two years for stopping a train full of arms dealers.

As he became more and more involved in the protest movement, Gideon struck relationships with fellow campaigners that were to last a life-time.

Martin & Me is the difficult tale of one of those relationships. It was one that didn’t last. But it did end up being life-changing.
